This gold wreath was discovered in the Golyama Kosmatka mound, near Kazanlak, together with the kylix, the silver jug and the phiale.
According to archaeologists, it belonged to the Odrisian ruler Seutheus III. It was defined as a symbol of power. The original is approximately 450 mm in diameter. It is decorated with over 200 oak leaves and over 70 acorns. The king placed it on his helmet during parades to impress his subjects, the aristocrats and the guests of the Thracian kingdom. Its craftsmanship is a true work of art.

What is the gold wreath made of?
The wreath consists of two main branches, to which we attach 13 smaller branches. There are about 150 leaves and about 45 acorns. We cut and make the oak leaves separately. Then we attach the acorns to the fine stems. We attach them to the branches and then process them in groups. We solder them one by one to the two main branches that form the crown. Finally, we gild with 24K gold.
