Our Story

The Dream

It all began with a dream – to create something meaningful. Something that would not merely be a business but a place where ideas, creativity, realization, and people come together to inspire change. We envisioned how we could leave our mark on the world – and thus began the long journey toward our goal.

In 1991, we founded our family company, naming it after our family name – "Zografov." Our inspiration came from the deep roots of our lineage and the creative spirit of Nikolay’s great-grandfather.

Bozhin-Emanoil Stimeniy Zograf

His icons adorn churches in Bulgaria, Macedonia, and Greece, with one even residing in St. Peter’s Basilica in Rome. Stories about him have been passed down through our family, inspiring us to seek beauty and perfection in art. After years of searching, we discovered the only preserved portrait of Bozhin-Emanoil, and it now hangs in our studio – a symbol of continuity and inspiration.

The Risks

It wasn’t easy. The storms were plenty – we faced challenges, doubts, and moments when we asked ourselves, “Can we really do this?” But it was precisely these trials that made us stronger. They taught us that the greatest lessons come from the risks we take.

The beginning was bold and filled with hope. We decided to dedicate ourselves to creating unique and luxurious items related to gifting – exquisite goblets, jugs, and dishes made of copper with silver and gold plating. We started with our hands and hearts, working tirelessly to turn our dream into reality. Failures taught us, challenges shaped us, but we remained steadfast in our belief in our path.

The Joy

Our first success – there are no words to describe the joy. The smiles of our clients, their words of gratitude, and the feeling that our efforts were truly worth it gave us wings. Every order, every compliment from a client filled us with pride.

Over time, our creations became a benchmark for style and quality. We expanded our range, adding solid silver dishes, exotic wood items, and replicas of antique artifacts. Some of our items found homes with renowned individuals, while others became cherished family heirlooms, treasured for generations.

From that moment, we knew – what we do matters.

We Are Proud

Today, we are proud to be a family company that embodies the spirit of tradition and innovation. We continuously strive to recreate elegance and refine details, to capture the desires of our clients, and to deliver the item of their dreams.

A special source of pride for us is being part of a centuries-old family, feeling the artistic spirit of our ancestors passed down through generations, a spirit we still carry today.

Our clients know that items bearing the seal “Zografov & Son” are a symbol of uniqueness and style.

In 2008, our son,

Lyubomir Zografov

managing partner

joined our company. He graduated with honours from the National Academy of Arts and completed a master’s degree in Applied Arts – specializing in “Metal” Fine Arts. During his second year, he won a United Nations competition with a project titled “The Dove of Peace.” He created a sculpture using 350 Kalashnikov rifles. The Dove can be seen in the “Chaika” Garden on Rakovski Street in the capital, in front of the Ministry of Defence Information Centre.

Lyubomir’s energy and talent brought new life to our products. Today, he is a partner and manager of the company, and his contributions to its vision and productivity are invaluable.

Lyubomir Ivanov

Shareholder

In 2023, we welcomed Lyubomir Ivanov to our team – a long-time friend and professional with experience in animation direction. His creativity and dedication to the arts enrich our team and inspire us to grow further.

Trademark

In 2018, we registered the name "Zografov" and our symbol – the griffin – at the Patent Office, which we now place on every item we create.

The Griffin – Our Trademark

As we grew in our profession and expanded the circle of people who trusted us, we reached a point where we needed our own symbol.

That’s why we chose the griffin.

It is not just an emblem, but an expression of our values, aspirations, and philosophy. This majestic creature, which combines the strength of a lion and the foresight of an eagle, symbolizes exactly those qualities we invest in everything we do.

Since ancient times, the griffin has been considered a protector of treasures, a symbol of strength, courage, and nobility. This role reflects our desire to preserve and pass on the value of our products and services, as well as the relationships we build with clients and partners. Just as the griffin guards the sacred and valuable, we strive to be a guarantor of quality and trust.

We chose the griffin because we believe it represents our mission to be a reliable partner and leader in what we do. It inspires us to set high goals, to face challenges with courage and confidence, and to uphold the core values that drive us forward.

The griffin is not just a symbol – it is a reflection of our spirit. That’s why it stands at the heart of our identity and will continue to inspire everything we create for you.

We Want to Share This with You

We believe that the most beautiful items are those that tell a story. That’s why our creations – silver goblets, pitchers, replicas of treasures, and unique pieces – carry the spirit of continuity and the desire to create something meaningful. We work with materials such as silver, gold, coloured metals, and exotic wood, but the true value comes from our personal approach to every order.

Owners of our products

Among the owners of our items bearing the "Zografov" seal are Angelina Jolie, Anatoly Karpov, Klaus Meine, Felix Baumgartner, Simeon Saxe-Coburg-Gotha, former and current heads of state such as Albert II, Vladimir Putin, Georgi Parvanov, Bronislaw Komorowski, Nursultan Nazarbayev, and Bill Clinton, to whom President Petar Stoyanov presented an award made by us for the "Centre for Global Dialogue and Cooperation" (CGDC) in the shape of the Earth, designed by Lyubomir Zografov.

But the most important clients are those who trust us for their personal and family moments.

We are not just a company – we are an emotion that grows with every step. Come, experience our story, and become a part of it.

We continue to create, inspired by tradition and the pursuit of perfection.

As Pablo Picasso said:

“Inspiration exists, but it has to find you working.”
