The silver phiale is inspired by one of the vessels discovered in the “Golyama Kosmatka” mound – part of the legacy of the Thracian ruler Seuthes III and a testament to the rituals associated with wine in antiquity.
Its form is clean and well-balanced – a smooth silhouette with a gently widening rim, uninterrupted in its line. A vessel that impresses with its simplicity and refined craftsmanship.
The phiale is handcrafted from 950 silver, shaped by drawing from a single metal disc. The process is repeated multiple times until the characteristic form is achieved. Beneath the rim is an engraved inscription in Ancient Greek, inspired by the original text: “This vessel belongs to Seuthes and weighs…” – a detail that testifies to the royal ownership of the object.
