The largest Thracian treasure discovered so far in our country is the Rogozen one. It was found in 1986 by accident and consists of 165 silver jugs, phiales and cups. They were divided into two piles: the first one was only half a metre underground, and the second pile was discovered a little later with a metal detector. According to the archaeologists, the objects had been collected over a number of years and therefore, their creation cannot be dated back with absolute precision. It is assumed that they are from the end of the 6th and the beginning of the 4th century BC.
Most of the artefacts are currently in the Vratsa Museum in a hall specially designed for their preservation.
